Peripheral Arterial Disease commonly known as PAD is a common condition caused by an accumulation of fats such as cholesterol in the blood vessels that attach to artery walls. This leads to poor blood flow in the feet, arms and legs. PAD also increases your risk for stroke and/or heart attack.
Signs & Symptoms of Peripheral Arterial Disease:
- Wound, scab, or infection on your leg, ankle, or foot that won’t heal
- Leg pain or cramping with no known cause
- Leg numbness
- Coldness in your leg, ankle, or foot
- Hair loss
- Shiny or discolored skin
- Yellow toenails that don’t grow
