MEMORY EVALUATIONS

Memory evaluation is the screening for mental illnesses, such as dementia or Alzheimer’s, which occur in aging patients. We can do a simple clock test to identify dementia. We also check for certain metabolic conditions that may be present in a person developing Alzheimer’s.

Some people have thyroid problems or other electrolyte abnormalities that can contribute to memory problems, and some people are just depressed. With a memory evaluation, we can find out whether it’s a medical issue or related to psychological stress.
